Sirrah
SÍRRAH [pronounced See-Rah], is a Barbadian-born creative, singer/songwriter, fashionista, wife, mother and youth social worker with a deeply rooted love for music, ALL things fashion, empowering young people, and butterflies.
Sirrah was a founding member of the Barbadian Flame Gospel Award Winning band ‘Inspired’, who won Best Vocal Group of the Year in 2005 and are best known for their single ‘But God’. Since embarking on a solo career, she has successfully debuted her freshman album, Butterfly, in 2016 which has brought us wonderful tracks such as the autobiographic ballad and title track ‘Butterfly’, the catchy sing-along Carib-pop track called ‘Let Your Light Shine’, and the feel-good pop/dance track called ‘Love Me To Life’ which music lovers across the region and even further afield in the US and parts of Europe, have come to love.
In addition to her debut album, Sirrah has been blessed to have many other significant accomplishments thus far, some of which include being a:
- Lead member of the 2015 Barbados National Choir that represented Barbados in the Christmas Carol Festival in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria.
- Featured artiste in the 2016 and 2019 Honey Jam Barbados Female Artiste Showcases
- #EndoAmbassador for the Barbados Association of Endometriosis & P.C.O.S in 2017
- Flame Award Awardee for Recording Of The Year for “Butterfly” in 2017
- Featured artiste in the 2018 Total Freedom Tour hosted by Caribbean Gospel Music Tour.
Her latest releases are:
- “Purify” – a mid-tempo pop track laced with lyrical visuals that carries you along the journey of purification that occurs through reading, believing, and applying God’s Word
- “God Is In Control” – a timely reminder that even amidst the chaos and confusion of this world God hasn’t left us and is still in control of it all
- “Follow” – a pop-rock expression of determination to not get caught up in the world’s ‘prescribed ways’ to ‘be relevant’ and ‘successful’, but instead to follow God’s guidance in all things.
As much as Sirrah continues to accomplish musically, she equally desires to continue to use her gifts, talents, and platforms to contribute to the positive transformation of young lives through her advocacy and psychosocial work as a professionally trained Social Worker.
At the core of it all, Sirrah loves God with every fiber of her being and strives daily to honor and please Him through her ‘life song’.
